Pippin Barr

v r 5 is an exhibition of shadows as implemented by the Unity game engine’s lighting system. With some artistic license, the exhibition shows the influence and aesthetics of different types of lights, movements, and parameters that shape the usually unobtrusive world of virtual shadows.

Pippin Barr is an experimental game designer and Associate Professor of Computation Arts at Concordia University. His work addresses everything from contemporary art to the nature of videogame technologies. Pippin cohosts the podcast GAMETHING and his latest book, *The Stuff Games Are Made Of*, discusses the materiality of videogame design.
