#06 Make Your Own Solo Role-Playing Game

Anna Blackwell, Saturday Afternoon

Playing with friends is fun, but playing on your own can be just as rewarding! Anna Blackwell  has built a career in the growing world of solo Role-playing Games (RPGs). In this 90-minute workshop Anna will guide you through the process of crafting your own game. Whether you’re a game developer, a family looking for a creative activity, or someone curious about the immersive world of solo RPGS, this session is for you!

Anna will introduce the fundamentals of solo RPG design, sharing insights into her own creative process and providing links to public domain and copyright-free resources. Through discussion and hands-on exercises, attendees will develop a game premise and explore different options for mechanics, production, and art.

Get ready to play and get inspired with cards and dice! The workshop will provide all necessary materials, including pens, paper, decks of playing cards, and an assortment of dice. There will also be optional familiar game elements and other interactive objects to spark creativity, think Jenga Towers and boardgames…

By the end of the session you will have a solid foundation to bring  your solo RPG ideas to life.

Each session can accommodate up to 20 participants at a time on a first come, first served basis. Never fear- there will be a second opportunity later in the session if you don’t get a spot at the start of the session!
