Angela Washko

Mother, Player is an experimental narrative video game featuring pregnancy and early parenthood stories from artists during the global pandemic. A series of intimate and laboriously hand-drawn interactive vignettes, the game presents challenging and poignant maternity experiences told by the artist caregivers who experienced them during lockdown.

Angela Washko is an artist who creates forums for discussions about feminism in hostile spaces. Her practice spans digitally-mediated performance art, media installation, documentary film, and video games. A recipient of the USA Artist Fellowship and the Creative Capital Award, Angela Washko is an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
