Are you a fan of Now Play This and want to get involved in the production process? We are looking to fill two freelance positions for this year’s festival. Both are available as entry level positions and we are keen to hear from all voices. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity in everything we do, and to valuing the diversity of everyone involved in the festival. As such we encourage applications from candidates traditionally under-represented in games, and we’re happy to discuss extra support if required during the interview process. Assistant Producer for Now Play This 2022
We are looking to expand our team with a Freelance Assistant Producer to help in the lead-up to and during the festival. The successful candidate would work with the producers to provide management and coordination support for the festival exhibition and surrounding events.
Who we are looking for:
You are conscientious, organised and can communicate clearly in writing and face to face. You’re able to prioritise your workload effectively and handle multiple tasks at once. You do not need professional experience in the field as this is an entry level role, but passion for experimental games and putting on events would be great. For example, if you’re putting things on in your spare time we’d love to know about it.
The job is approximately 16 days on a freelance basis over March and early April, at least 10 of those in London, so this position is not suitable for remote working. The fee is £150/day.
The job includes:
- Liaising and continuing communication with artists
- Research and prop buying
- General bookkeeping and admin
- Booking travel and accommodation
- Assisting with get-in and get-out of exhibition
- Managing facilitators
- Assisting with evaluation and archive after the festival

Digital Content Creator for Now Play This 2022
Work with the Festival Team to turn our strategy into a content plan and then make video, photography and text content in the lead up to and during the festival.
Who we are looking for:
An organised, confident communicator who loves short-form content and brings ideas and energy to the position. We’ll want to see accounts you run but we’re open to this being entry level so that can be either in a professional or personal capacity. Knowledge of and passion for experimental games would be a plus.
The job is approximately 5 days over late March and early April, mostly in London. The fee is £130/day
The job includes:
- Making content for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook Live in the voice of the festival
- Helping coordinate with Somerset House and Games London PR teams
- Live updates during the Festival
- Assisting with evaluation and archiving after the festival
